We had a fun morning. First we went up to Brookston to play on a playground.
Kris and Stian experimented with all the differnt ways that two people can possibly share a swing.
Then we drove up to Monon, IN. Stian's teacher had told us about a train museum and restaurant up there, so we decided to check it out. It was very neat. Stian really enjoyed the outside stuff, but he was enchanted by the trains inside the restaurant that drove around on tracks up near the ceiling. He thought that was very cool.
Well, the pitty, pitty, patter of a little bitty feet's Gonna pitty, pitty, patter through our house.

How to stay cool
We've had some very hot weather lately - temps in the mid 90s, heat advisories, heat indexes above 110, so we haven't been able to spend too much time outside. But Stian and Daddy found a good way to beat the heat last night.

Sugar Creek
We went canoeing on Sugar Creek this afternoon. It's about an hour or so south of here. We went with Kevin, Dawn, Quinn and their new dog Libby. It was really pretty, it's amazing how much hillier it gets just going that much further south. We had a nice time. Stian liked it too - though he got pretty nervous a few times, when we went through some "rapids" and when we got hung up on some rocks. Of course I got a little nervous then too...
We just brought our little point and shoot camera as there was the possibility we could all end up in the river. But we got some decent pictures with it.

Toys
Just some pictures of Stian playing with toys the other evening. He's gotten into his train lately. He wasn't all that overly interested in it until they got a train table at school, now he's much more interested in his own trains. He's also playing with a toy that makes burping sounds. That one was courtesy of Klebo. Gee, thanks Klebo. ;)

Zoo
We had a really nice weekend this weekend. We started Saturday by going to a garage sale where we found the exact Lightning McQueen toy that Nate got for Christmas that Stian coveted. He was so excited about it, and has been playing with it tons since then. Then to the library and the farmers' market. Then we took Stian to a car show. It was a bunch of cool old cars in a parking lot - nothing fancy. But it was pretty neat. Both Stian and Kris really enjoyed it. At least until a car with a noisy engine pulled up, then Stian wanted to leave. After nap time we went to a park and played for a long time.
On Sunday morning we took Stian to the local free zoo. I wanted to see the new River Otter exhibit, and Stian likes the zoo and the playground near the zoo.
Stian liked the otters too.
And the baby wallaby - how cute is that?!
Stian spots the tractor from across the zoo and makes a run for it!
Stian quite liked the butterfly hut.
And the fish in the little fish pond inside the butterfly hut.
And the fountains were a hit, like usual.
And of course we had to stop and swing for awhile too.
