Monday arrived and it was the day we could meet up with the ship. But the ship wasn't scheduled to dock until 3:00 pm. So we had a leisurely morning. We went for a walk on the beach and through the neighborhood.
We had a nice lunch and finally headed to the pier. The cab driver dropped us off quite aways from the ship, so we had to haul all of our luggage pretty far, and we had to fights the hordes of people coming off the ship who would not make way for us going against the flow of people to get on to the ship. It was very exhausting and frusterating. But we finally made it on to the ship and got situated. We met up with Kris's family. It turns out that it was probably a good thing we had missed the ship as they had encountered a pretty nasty storm on their way down where they have 100 mile an hour winds and 30 foot swells. I think I would have been awfully ill had I been there.
We chatted with the family for awhile, got a little organized, and then headed back into Old San Juan to do some shopping.
We didn't buy much, but Old San Juan is pretty and it was nice to just walk around. They have beautiful old blue brick streets in part of Old San Juan.
After shopping we headed back to the ship for a late dinner and hanging out with the family.
